The Tahoe-Reno International Film Festival is giving locals a chance to see the world this yearthrough another&quo;s eyes. T-RIFF is proud to announce the Adopt-A-Filmmaker program, which will allow locals to play host to visiting filmmakers from around the globe. The Festival, which runs August 23-27, 2006, embraces the backdrop of its mountainous community and Lake Tahoe as an international treasure which attracts filmmakers from many countries to this area. Host homes and families are being sought to introduce visiting filmmakers to our culturally creative and environmentally savvy residents and to provide accommodation during the Festival. “This is an excellent chance to show off the beauty of our area, the generosity of our community and to meet and support some of the most creative minds in the world,” said Katrina Wilson, Executive Director of the T-RIFF. In 2005, the Festival received over 1000 films from 22 countries. Those chosen for the exhibition were from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Tunisia, Macedonia, Mongolia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, India, Canada and the US.
